How to match replacement clipper blades, guard combs, vacuum filters and chargers to your exact model, and why 'compatible' in a listing needs checking.
Short answer
Replacement parts fit a model, not a category. Match blades to your clipper's blade system, guard combs to the blade they were made for, and filters to your vacuum's exact model code. Treat "compatible with" in a listing as the seller's claim until the maker of your tool confirms it, and replace a charger only with one rated for your device.
What wears out
- Clipper blades need cleaning and oil after every session, and eventually replacing. Wahl says to brush out hair and oil the blade after each use; Oster says to remove hair and apply blade lube after each use.[1][2]
- Guard combs must match the blade underneath; replace any that are bent or cracked.
- Vacuum filters and sponges clog with fine hair and dust.
- Trimmer heads and grinder bands are small consumables. The paw trimmer on our shortlist sells a spare cutter head as a separate variant.
- Chargers and batteries get lost or wear out, and the wrong replacement is a safety risk.
Matching blades and guard combs
Start with the blade system. Oster says its Turbo A5 is compatible with all Oster A5 detachable blades, including its wider series, and Andis says its AGC2 works with Andis blades and Oster A-5 blades.[2][3] Those statements cover those models; for anything else, look for your clipper's name in the blade maker's own list.
Width matters too. Wide blades need matching wide combs: Andis sells wide versions of common blades and suggests pairing its wide M-Force blades with wide attachment combs. It also notes that its ceramic cutters are not compatible with M-Force blades.[4]
Guard combs are made for a base blade. Wahl's stainless guide combs must be used with a #10, #15 or #30 blade, and Wahl sells different sets for its detachable-blade and 5-in-1 clippers.[5] Oster's metal guide combs fit A5-type blades in sizes 10, 15 and 30.[6] The details are in clipper guard combs explained and A5 vs 5-in-1 clipper blades.
Some clippers use an integrated head instead of a detachable blade. One AliExpress listing sells a BaoRun 3/6/9/12 mm head marketed for six BaoRun clipper models; that fit is the seller's claim.[7]
Grooming-vacuum filters and parts
Find the model code first. Oneisall publishes manuals by model, such as BM3 / PG04 and Cozy SE2 / PG08, which makes it easier to match a listing to the right machine.[8] Third-party parts name a model too: one listing sells a 3-pack of B98A filter sponges marketed for the Oneisall LM2 Pro.[9] Again, that fit is the seller's claim.
"HEPA" on a grooming vacuum is the maker's description. Neakasa, for example, claims its three-stage filter of a HEPA filter, metal net and sponge collects 99.97% of fine dust.[10] We found no replacement interval that applies across brands, so follow your model's manual.
Chargers and safety
Health Canada advises using the charger that came with the device. If you need a replacement, buy it from a trusted source with compatible voltage and current, and look for a CSA, cUL or cETL mark: Health Canada says chargers without one do not meet electrical safety standards.[11]
Blades also need oil to keep working well. Andis says to re-oil whenever a blade starts to feel warm or dry, and AKC's grooming standard warns groomers to watch for clipper burns.[12][13]
How to order the right part
- Find the model code on the rating label or in the manual.
- Match the system: blade family and width, comb set, filter model.
- Read the variant. Parts are often sold as variants inside a tool's listing, and the cheapest option on a tool listing may be a part.
- Check the return terms. AliExpress's Free Return covers participating items returned unused, undamaged and in original packaging within 15 days of confirmed receipt.[14]
- Screenshot the compatibility claim before you pay. Step-by-step blade care is in how to clean and oil clipper blades.

Common questions
What does A5 mean on a dog clipper blade?
It is Oster's name for its detachable blade family: Oster says its Turbo A5 takes all Oster A5 detachable blades. Other makers refer to it, as Andis does when it says its AGC2 works with Oster A-5 blades. More in A5-style vs 5-in-1 clipper blades
Can I put A5 blades on a 5-in-1 clipper?
Not unless the clipper maker says so. The 5-in-1 models we cite, the Andis ProClip 5-in-1 and Wahl Motiva2, are built around an adjustable 5-in-1 blade, and Wahl sells a separate guard-comb set for its 5-in-1 clippers. More in A5-style vs 5-in-1 clipper blades
Do A5 blades from one brand fit another brand's clipper?
Sometimes, when the clipper maker says so: Andis states that its AGC2 works with Oster A-5 blades. We could not verify broader claims, such as every A5-style blade fitting Wahl's KM clippers. More in A5-style vs 5-in-1 clipper blades
Do guard combs work on both blade systems?
Yes, but not the same combs. Wahl sells set 3390-100 for its detachable-blade clippers and set 3379 for its 5-in-1 clippers, and both go on a #10, #15 or #30 blade or setting. More in A5-style vs 5-in-1 clipper blades
Which blade system is easier for grooming at home?
A 5-in-1 means one blade and one comb set. A detachable clipper means buying a blade for each length, but it reaches longer comb-free lengths, up to about 3/4 in on Andis' chart, so choose by the lengths your dog's coat needs. More in A5-style vs 5-in-1 clipper blades
Which blade goes under a clipper guard comb?
The one the comb maker specifies. Wahl's stainless combs need a #10, #15 or #30 blade or blade setting and work best on a #30; Oster's metal combs fit A5-type detachable blades in sizes 10, 15 and 30. More in Clipper guard combs explained
Do guard combs fit any clipper?
No. Wahl sells one set (3390-100) for its detachable-blade clippers and another (3379) for its 5-in-1 clippers, and Andis pairs its wide blades with wide attachment combs. More in Clipper guard combs explained
What blade length is a 3/8 inch guard comb like?
Oster says its 3/8 in (9.5 mm) comb leaves a finish similar to a #4 blade, and its 1/2 in (13 mm) comb a finish similar to a #3. More in Clipper guard combs explained
Questions
Are all A5 clipper blades interchangeable?
Do not assume so. Oster documents its Turbo A5 with Oster A5 blades and Andis lists Oster A-5 blades for its AGC2, but fit is documented model by model. Standard and wide blades also differ.[2][3][4]
Which blade goes under a guard comb?
The one the comb maker specifies. Wahl's stainless guide combs must be used with a #10, #15 or #30 blade and work best with a #30; Oster's metal guide combs fit A5-type blades in sizes 10, 15 and 30.[5][6]
Do wide clipper blades need different guard combs?
Yes. Wide blades need matching wide combs. Andis suggests pairing its wide M-Force blades with wide attachment combs and notes that its ceramic cutters are not compatible with M-Force blades.[4]
How often should I replace a grooming-vacuum filter?
Follow your model's manual; we found no interval that applies across brands. Oneisall, for example, publishes manuals by model code, such as PG04 for the BM3 and PG08 for the Cozy SE2.[8]
Can I trust 'compatible with' in a listing?
Treat it as the seller's claim. AliExpress's terms say it is not responsible for the quality or safety of the products listed, so check the maker's documentation for your exact model and keep a screenshot of the claim.[15]
Can I charge a cordless clipper with any charger?
No. Health Canada advises using the charger that came with the device, or a replacement from a trusted source with compatible voltage and current. In Canada, look for a CSA, cUL or cETL mark on the charger.[11]
